Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Her mother is English and her father Nigerian. She was raised in a council estate south of London. At the age 14she enrolled in The Brit School. At the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art was where she received the BA in acting. While at the academy, she performed in several stage productions such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. In the years since she has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe played Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as in six episodes Trexx and Flipside. Madekwe played Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). She also appeared on the screen in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 when she appeared on the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes prior to being removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' initial two seasons as the show's regular. But in May of 2013, it was announced that announcement was made that she would quit the show due to her guest appearance in the premiere episode of its third season. The actress portrayed Tituba in the TV show Salem from 2014 until 2016. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he had a role alongside her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball in summer and hockey during winters. Ashley was never able to walk, but she danced. When she turned two-and-a-half she took up Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. Ashley participated in the top divisions for jazz, tap ballet, hip hop, lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated from high school. Ashley took home the best soloist prize at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
