Dina was born in Forest Hills in Queens. New York. But she changed her location to Dix Hills on Long Island shortly before finishing her junior year. She has two siblings, one of whom is older, named Gregory as well as a younger sibling called Evan. Modeling was her first job in the field. It was her first job from the age of 9 to 16. The beginning of her acting career was in The Neighborhood Playhouse, New York. She studied Sanford Meisner's methods alongside Ron Stetson for three years. Other actors to receive such education include Sandra Bullock, Michael Douglas, Jeff Goldblum, Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton, and many other actors. Her first role was in Beverly Hills 90210 which forced her to make the move to Los Angeles. The role was as the leading lady in Johnny Mnemonic in which she was able to perform almost every stunt by herself. She also established herself as a skilled actor. The agency she was represented by was Matt LeBlanc, so through her agent for talent, she was able to land a regular role on Friends.
